【摘要】:Themassofairrequiredtoburnaunitmassoffuelwithnoexcessofoxygenorfuelleftoverisknownasthestoichiometricair-fuelratio.Theratiovariesappreciablyoverthewiderangeoffuels--gasolines,dieselfuels,andalternativefuels--thatmightbeconsideredforuseinautomotiveengines.Althoughperformanceofenginesoperatingondifferentfuelsmaybecomparedatthesameair-fuelratioorsamefuel-airratio,itismoreappropriatetocompareoperationatthesameequivalenceratio,forwhichaknowledgeofstoichiometricair-fuelratioisaprerequisite.ThisSAERecommendedPracticesummarizesthecomputationofstoichiometricair-fuelratiosfromaknowledgeofacompositionofairandtheelementalcompositionofthefuelwithoutaneedforanyinformationonthemolecularweightofthefuel.
