【摘要】:Leakageofaqueousenginecoolantintothecrankcaseweakenstheabilityoftheoiltolubricate.Ifethyleneglycolispresent,itpromotesvarnishanddepositformation.Thistestmethodisdesignedforearlydetectiontopreventcoolantfromaccumulatingandseriouslydamagingtheengine.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofethyleneglycolasacontaminantinusedengineoil.Thistestmethodisdesignedtoquantitateethyleneglycolintherangefrom5to200massppm.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,seeSection6.Note18212;Aqualitativedeterminationofglycol-baseantifreezeisprovidedinTestMethodsD2982.ProcedureAissensitivetoabout100ppm.
